Empirical Study on Innovative Techniques of Motivation for Employee Retention: Comparative Study between Jet Airways and Indigo Airlines

The goal of this paper was to study the motivation factor from Herzberg Two factor theory which encouraging employee’s retention in Jet Airways and Indigo Airlines at Lucknow airport, India. Therefore, this study intended to examine factors influencing an employee to maintain their employment in the airline business and to identify the causes of employee turnover within the airline industry. The study was both qualitative and quantitative that used survey questionnaire and in-depth interviews for primary data with Human Resource representatives. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to Jet and Indigo Airline employees. The research’s results revealed numerous important Motivation factor(i) Professional training, (ii) Cross Departmental Training, (iii) Soft Skill Training, (iv) Personal Development (e.g., emotional balance, physical health, and intellectual growth, etc.) ,that had a certain level of influence on employee retention.
